Acceptable Use Policy
Klassified exists so people can pass passwords, keys, documents and other private information to someone they trust, without a long-term copy staying on our service. Encryption protects your privacy. It does not make illegal or harmful use acceptable.
Think of a road. It is built so people can get where they need to go, even though someone could also use it to move something they should not. Klassified is built the same way and for the same reason: to protect ordinary people's privacy, not to help anyone hide a crime. We cannot read what you share, but we do act on what we learn, and the rules below are part of using it.
You may not use Klassified to share or do any of the following
- Child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises minors.
- Intimate images of a person without their consent, including manipulated or AI-generated images.
- Malware: viruses, ransomware, spyware, exploit kits, or any code meant to damage systems or take control of them without permission.
- Phishing and fraud: pages, documents or messages that impersonate someone to obtain money, passwords or personal data, and any other scam.
- Stolen data: leaked credentials, card numbers, personal data dumps, or other information obtained without authorisation.
- Threats, harassment and incitement: threats of violence, targeted harassment, content that incites violence or hatred against people because of who they are, and terrorist content.
- Infringement: content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including pirated software, films, music and books.
- Illegal goods and services: content used to sell or arrange drugs, weapons, counterfeit documents or other illegal trade.
- Spam and evasion: bulk unsolicited messages, using share links to hide malicious links from filters, or creating several accounts to get around plan limits.
- Attacks on the service: probing, scanning or overloading our systems, bypassing limits, or interfering with other users.
Anything that is illegal in Estonia, in the EU, or where you or your recipient are is also not allowed.
How we enforce this without reading your content
We do not decrypt or scan shares, and we cannot screen them in advance. A person reviews reports from recipients, the public, rights holders and authorities, together with the account and share information we hold, such as when a share was created and by which account. Automated checks enforce plan limits; they do not decide whether content is illegal. We never ask for the decryption key: the share ID in the link is enough to remove a share that has not been opened yet and, while the file-share log exists, to tell which account created a file share.
What can happen when the rules are broken
- We remove the reported share if it is still available.
- We may warn you, suspend the account that created it for up to 30 days, or close it. Serious violations, such as sexual content involving minors, malware, fraud or phishing, or paying with stolen card details, can lead to immediate closure.
- If we close an account for breaking these rules, its owner may not open a new one without our written permission. This does not apply to people who close their own account: they can come back any time.
- We may block network addresses used for repeated abuse.
- Where information gives rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence that threatens someone's life or safety, we promptly inform the competent law enforcement or judicial authorities and give them the information we have, as the Digital Services Act requires. We also report to authorities where other laws require it.
Account holders get a statement of reasons for any restriction, and can contest it free of charge within 6 months, as described in section 6 of the Terms of Service.
If you received a Klassified link with illegal or harmful content, please report it. See Report abuse for what to send.
